Born in Pomona, California on April 28, 1981, Jessica and her family moved to Biloxi, Mississippi when she was very young. She was in love with the idea of becoming an actress, but her family moved continuously because her father was a pilot in the US Air Force. Three years after arriving in Biloxi, her family moved back to California, then to Del Rio, Texas, before finally settling in southern California when Jessica was nine. Finally settled, Jessica took her first acting lesson - she was 12. Nine months later, she landed herself an agent.

Jessica made her feature film debut in 1993 in the Hollywood Pictures comedy "Camp Nowhere." Originally hired for two weeks, she got her lucky break when an actress in a principal role suddenly dropped out. Jessica cheerfully admits it wasn't her prodigious talent or charm that inspired the director to tap her to take over the part. It was her hair, which matched the original performer's. The two-week job stretched to two months, and Jessica ended the film with an impressive first credit.

Two national television commercials for Nintendo and J.C. Penney quickly followed before Jessica was featured in several independent films. She branched out into television in 1994 with a recurring role in Nickelodeon's popular comedy series "The Hidden World of Alex Mac." She played an insufferable young snob, devoted to making life miserable for the title character, a girl with magical powers. That same year, she won the role of Maya in "Flipper" and filmed the pilot for the series. Jessica spent 1995 shooting the first season's episodes in Australia.

By now, Jessica has already played a variety of roles ranging from light comedy to gritty drama. But mere men can only daydream about 20-year-old Jessica while watching her; she has been engaged to her Dark Angel co-star, 32-year-old Michael Weatherly (Logan on the show), since May 2001. She also recently signed a contract with L'Oreal, joining Jennifer Lopez and Milla Jovovich as a Feria hair color spokesperson.
