Holly Valance was born in Melbourne, Australia on May 11, 1983 and moved to Brighton, Australia in her early years. Her mother and father were both models - it's no wonder where Holly gets her looks.
Strangely, Holly didn't have a burning desire for the limelight, but her mother encouraged her to get involved in the industry. Through her mom's contacts, Holly was strutting down runways and posing for Kmart catalogues when she was only 14 years old.
Holly's first big break came when she was 17, when she landed a big role on the Aussie soap opera "Neighbours." Her character's name was Felicity "Flick" Scully. The role took way too much of Holly's time, so she decided to quit school while still in grade 11. Though she regrets not getting her diploma, she became a fan favourite on the show for the three years she was in it.
In 2002, Holly's interests changed from acting to singing. She opted to not renew her contract with the soap, and turned to the mic. Her first single (called "Kiss Kiss") was an instant hit! It went all the way to number one in the UK and Australia.
Holly's good looks have also earned her widespread recognition by the publishing world. FHM named her on the the sexiest women in the world, and in 2001 she took the GQ Award for "Woman of the Year", beating out the likes of Rachel Weisz and Dido.
