Claudia Schiffer was born on August 25th, 1970 in Dusseldorf, Germany. She grew up with aspirations of being a lawyer and working in her father's successful firm. Those dreams came to a halt in October, 1987, when Claudia was 17. She was out with her friends at a nightclub and caught the eye of a modeling agent. Shortly after, she was on her way to Paris for her first shoot.
She began modeling regularly and gained some exposure by appearing on the cover of Elle magazine. In 1989, Claudia landed a huge contract with Guess? and became famous worldwide for the sexy advertisements. Claudia Schiffer quickly became one of the original supermodels of the early 1990's.
Her amazing popularity in the 1990's remains to this day. She has appeared on more than 500 magazine covers and her annual calendar is always one of the hottest selling of the bunch.
Nowadays, Claudia is more into film and TV than modeling. Her recent films include Life Without Dick (2001), In Pursuit (2000), and Black & White. (Check out her profile at the IMDB.
Claudia has even made a personal exercise video and is also quite the entrepreneur, considering she was one of the original founders of the trendy Fashion Cafe (with fellow supermodels Elle MacPherson, Christy Turlington, and Naomi Campbell,).
As for her hobbies, Claudia likes to ride horses, paint, play tennis, read, ski, and dance. As well, this beauty is also fluently trilingual - she speaks German, French and English.
Claudia remains one of the top five supermodels in the modelling industry today. She signed a four-year contract with Revlon cosmetics worth $6 million. Unfortunately for us, the contract states that she can't pose nude during that time.
Claudia certainly hopes to continue modeling well into the new millennium. She would also like to make the transition and become a respected, successful actress and later on hopes to raise a family of her own.
