Miss Wonderbra Brenda Schad has had a less-than-typical childhood. Her 15-year-old unmarried mother was forced to give her up for adoption and she was raised by her foster parents.
When she was a young teenager, Brenda wasn't exactly what you'd think a future supermodel would look like. She was tall, thin, underdeveloped, and had a mouthful of othodontic metal with the head gear to boot. But nevertheless, she was discovered in Japan at the age of 14 while trying on a bathing suit in a store. Brenda recalls the situation: "It must have been my legs because they were long and skinny. My face wasn't anything - it wasn't at all polished like it is now. It's amazing what you can do with makeup and lights."
As Brenda's modelling career took off, her life too a big turn. At 19, she got married and pregnant. The marriage wasn't a success, and she is now divorced and taking care of her 5-year-old daughter.
With her marriage over, Brenda now focuses her attention on modelling. Although not as famous as Elle, she has appeared on the covers of such magazines as Cosmopolitan, Tatler, and GQ. But Brenda knows modelling isn't a career that lasts forever. When the time comes to move on, she hopes to pursue a career in politics or writing.
