Ana Beatriz Barros was born in a tiny Brazilian town called Itabira and later moved to the big city of Rio de Janeiro with her family.

In her early teenage years, Ana sprouted to the height of 5'11" and became abselute model material. It didn't take long to be spotted by someone in the modeling industry - in Ana's case, not just anyone, the Director of Elite Model Management, who happened to be vacationing in Rio at the time. Ana was encouraged to enter the Brazilian Elite Look of the Year contest in 1996 and surprise surprise, she WON! Later that year she went on to compete in Elite's International Look of the Year contest and placed second.

Ana's portfolio found itself on the desk of Paul Marciano, the chairman/CEO of Guess?, and he had to sign her. Ana landed a contract with Guess?, following in the footsteps of many other famous models (including Megan Ewing, recently featured at Desktop Angels.)

Besides her appearances in Guess? campaigns, Ana has appeared in commercials for Head & Shoulders, Chanel make-up, Onyx, and many others. She has also graced the covers of international fashion magazines such as Capricho (Brazil), Nova (France), 20 Ans (France), Elle (Brazil), Claudia (Brazil), Allure (US), Woman (Spain), and Audi (Brazil). She's also done more runway shows than can be listed here.

In her spare time, which there isn't much of these days, Ana enjoys the movies, hanging with friends, listening to music (Lenny Kravitz mostly), swimming, reading, and playing volleyball.
