Alyssa Jayne Milano was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her father is a film music editor and her mother is a fashion designer.
Ever since she was 7 years old, Alyssa knew she wanted to be an actress. She got her first role at the age of 8 playing "July" in the play Annie. She toured on the show for eighteen months and then quit to star in off-Broadway productions and TV commercials.
In 1984, at the age of 12, Alyssa joined the hit TV show Who's The Boss where she played the role of Tony Danza's daughter. From then on she landed too many roles to list.
Some of her more noteable career highlights include serving as the inspiration for Ariel, the mermaid in Disney's The Little Mermaid and being a regular on the hit TV show Melrose Place.
In December 1998, Alyssa was awarded $230,000 US, after she sued a Web designer that allegedly posted nude pictures of her without her permission.
In 1998, Alyssa took another TV role on the WB's Charmed as the sister of fellow witches Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs (Shannen Doherty quit in 2001 and was replaced by McGowan).
Alyssa has also released five albums in her career entitled Alyssa, Look In My Heart (both in 1989), Best In The World (1990), Locked In a Dream (1991) and Do You See Me? (1992) in Japan, which all went platinum.
