Unlike most Brazilian models, Alessandra wasn't discovered on a beach and invited to pose - she took the first step herself. When she was 15, Alessandra took modeling lessons in Brazil. She then participated in the Elite Look of the Year contest in 1996 and landed herself a spot on Elite's roster.

Like so many supermodels before her, unknown Alessandra Ambrosio caught the eye of Guess? designer Guy Marciano. He signed her to a Guess? campaign and the rest writes itself.

Now, at the age of 22, Alessandra has appeared on numerous fashion magazine covers including Elle, Wallpaper, Desfile, Capricho, and Bazaar. She has also done big name campaigns for Revlon, the Gap, Calvin Klein eyewear, and Giorgio Armani.

Alessandra has also been signed to a huge deal with Victoria's Secret. Her smiling face lights up nearly every page of the catalog. She also appeared in the Victoria's Secret runway show in Cannes alongside Stephanie Seymour and Tyra Banks.

Though modeling takes up most of her time, Alessandra plans to obtain a university degree. When not in front of a camera, she spends time with her boyfriend Jayson Lee, also a model. The rumor mill has also linked her romantically to another fellow model Marcelo Boldrini. (lucky guy)
