About Desktop Angels
Desktop Angels was created in 2001 for the purpose of learning PHP and MySQL. I choose to base the site on wallpapers of beautiful women mostly because I was a big fan of Desktop Girls at the time (and I still am).
Running a free site like Desktop Angels can be a problem when it comes to bandwidth. The site uses hundreds of GB of bandwidth every month and I struggled for years to find a web host that would provide good service at a cheap price. Over the years I have accepted a few different free-hosting offers and you always get what you pay for - the service was lousy and the site was terribly slow.
For a couple years Desktop Angels was hosted with Blue Host and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality host. But because Blue Host won't allow you link to adult content - such as Adult Friend Finder - Desktop Angels switched to Net Nation in June 2007.
